Can escorts use Stripe?

Explicitly lists escorts under Prohibited Businesses — not restricted, fully banned.

What the Terms of Service actually say

Prohibited Businesses — Adult content and services

Adult services, including prostitution, escorts, pay-per-view, sexual massages, fetish services, mail-order brides, and adult live-chat features

Escorts are listed by name under Prohibited Businesses (not "restricted"). This is a hard ban — Stripe will not knowingly process payments for escort services.

Prohibited Businesses — Adult content and services

Pornography and other mature audience content (including literature, imagery, and other media) designed for the purpose of sexual gratification

The ban extends beyond services to content — even marketing materials or gallery pages could trigger enforcement.

Prohibited Businesses — Adult content and services

Any artificial-intelligence generated content that meets the above criteria

Stripe specifically bans AI-generated adult content too, closing the "it's AI art" loophole.

Our analysis

Stripe explicitly names "escorts" under its Prohibited Businesses list — not the restricted category, the fully prohibited one. This is one of the clearest bans in the payment processing industry. The list also names prostitution, sexual massages, fetish services, and adult live-chat. There is no grey area or enhanced review process — these are flatly banned. Some providers have operated on Stripe by describing their business vaguely, but this is risky: once Stripe identifies the true nature of the business (via chargebacks, reports, or routine review), the account will be terminated and funds can be held for 90+ days. For payment processing, peer-to-peer options like Zelle avoid the merchant-processor gatekeeping entirely. BlushDesk tracks payments without processing them, so you can use whatever payment method works best for your situation.
